Candidates for Laser Hair Removal
Posted Apr 3, 2010
Laser hair removal is a fairly simple process that can help to remove unwanted body hair. The laser hair removal process only requires a handful of visits. These visits all follow a simple laser procedure. The laser goes into the skin to kill the unwanted hair.
There are certain people who are better candidates for laser hair removal than others. While some people can still try the laser hair removal procedures, others should stay away from it altogether.
Dark Hair
People who have dark hair are considered good candidates for laser hair removal. The process focuses on darker pigments in the hair, making it easier for their hair to be picked up. People who have blond hair will have a hard time getting the procedure to be successful. While they can still attempt the process, people with dark hair are the best candidates.
No Sensitivity Issues
The laser light can cause irritation to the skin for those who have sensitive skin. Therefore, those who have no skin sensitivity issues are considered to be the best candidates. Those who have skin issues can still have the procedure performed, but may deal with unwanted after-effects.
Not Pregnant
The lasers in laser hair removal are only meant to go deep into the layers of the skin. It is impossible to understand how deep the lasers are going for each individual. This is why women who are pregnant are often asked to avoid the procedure. Those who are not pregnant are therefore considered to be good candidates for laser hair removal.
Of the Right Age
Most age groups can handle the laser hair removal process. Young children (pre-teens) are often considered to be too young for the lasers. People who are tool old are often considered to be too sensitive for the lasers. Anyone between these age groups is considered to be good candidates for the procedure.
People with dark hair are the best candidates for laser hair removal. The laser can recognize the hair better, and will be able to kill the hair more efficiently. Those who do not suffer from any sensitivity issues are good candidates. Those who are pregnant would be considered bad candidates, as would those who are young, or those who are senior citizens. While there are some people who are not perfect candidates, most people can have a successful laser hair removal procedure.
