Effective Hair Removal Guide For Bodybuilders
Posted Apr 18, 2010
Lifting heavy weights while and eating a strict diet aren't the only challenging aspects of body building: there's also the removal of unwanted hair! Nearly all competitive bodybuilders use at least some form of hair removal. Some casual 'builders partake in this activity as well. Here's a look at some hair removal methods for the muscularly inclined.
For starters, if you're looking for a permanent solution, be ready to pay more. Laser body hair removal and electrolysis are the two most considered permanent removal techniques and are fairly safe for nearly your entire body. If you have the money to spend and are serious about your body building, this is a good way to go. If you're a little lighter on the budget or you don't want your body hair gone forever then here's some recommendations:
This one is almost common sense: nearly all men handle facial hair the same way, by shaving. Women often opt for a waxing. Facial hair is an easy one! Chest hair? Waxing works here too, along with shaving for men. Any area that gets shaved multiple times though will most likely need to be shaved regularly on a permanent basis. As always with shaving, use caution and watch out for skin irritation, especially if you are nearing a show date. Ingrown hairs are another complication to keep an eye out for. Use the same chest hair advice for shoulders, back, hands, stomach, and arms too.
If nipple hair is a problem then try gently stretching the skin around the nipple, then pulling it out firmly from the root. Avoid yanking to avoid ingrown hairs in a tender location! Speaking of sensitive areas, what about the underarm area? You can shave this area too, however you'll need to shave in all directions as underarm hair typically grows in all directions. Avoid using any deodorant for a little while after your shave as it may further irritate your already perturbed skin.
One rule of thumb for those considering the use of depilatories for body hair removal: avoid using depilatories on sensitive areas!
Even more delicate: pubic and genital regions. If your pub-main is long enough you can trim it with scissors first, followed up by a careful waxing. Male privates may be shaved, but for females the use of a waxing or sugaring is recommended to avoid painful bumps and uncomfortable skin irritations.
Anal and perineum (slang: "taint") considerations: This is yet another area with which to use extreme caution so as to avoid a potentially very uncomfortable predicament. Careful waxing or a delicate sugaring should do the trick. Use extreme caution!
